Cherokee LNG Plant
The Cherokee LNG plant, located north of Atlanta in Ball Ground, Georgia, was placed in service in 1988 and has a single storage tank with a capacity of 2 billion cubic feet (Bcf) or 24.4 million gallons of liquefied natural gas. The plant has the capability to produce 120,000 gallons per day and has one trucking rack and scale that can load a 10,000 gallon tanker in less than one hour. Operations are fully staffed year-round 24/7 to meet our customer’s demand. The 934-acre site was designed to accommodate a second tank of equal capacity if warranted. This plant can deliver an equivalent of 625,000 Dth per day of natural gas during peak send-out to Atlanta Gas Light's customers.
